Meet Zai — Getting Started
Meet Zai is your AI companion on the ZAI platform. Chat about your day, share what's on your mind, and choose how your companion looks and relates to you. You can also listen to spoken replies or talk in a voice call.
Start your first conversation
- Visit zai.gg and choose a look for your companion on the home page.
- Follow the prompts to sign in or create an account. If you already have a ZAI account, sign in with it.
- Type a message in the chat box and send it. For example: “It's been a long day. Can we chat for a bit?”
- Switch to voice replies to hear Zai, or use Voice call to talk in real time. See Chat and Voice for controls and usage.
You can change your companion's look, voice, and relationship in settings at any time. There's no need to get everything set up before your first chat.

Account and access
Meet Zai uses your ZAI platform account. You may need to sign in again when opening another product, but you do not need a separate account for each product. See Account, Balance, and Support for registration, password recovery, and help.
The plan page shows what's included in Free and Zai Plus, including voice allowances. These benefits are separate from the USD balance used for the API and ZaiDrama. See Plans and Usage.
