Appearance, Voice, and Relationship

In Meet Zai, you can customize your companion's appearance, voice, and relationship independently.

Change appearance

Open Settings → Look and choose an appearance you like. You can also create a custom look. Before generating one, check whether it's included in your plan and how many generations you have left.

A new look comes with a recommended voice. If you've already selected a voice yourself, your selection stays the same. Changing your companion's look does not change their name, personality, or memories.

Choose a voice

Open Settings → Voice to choose a voice and adjust volume. This page also shows your remaining voice-reply time for the current period.

Custom voices are available only when the current voice model supports them. If the page says they are unavailable, any voices you've already created are kept. If your selected custom voice cannot be used, Zai temporarily uses the default voice for their look and switches back when your voice is supported again.

Change the name

Under Settings → Relationship, find Their name, select Edit, enter a name, and save. Only the name changes; personality and memories stay the same.

Choose a relationship

Select a relationship under Settings → Relationship:

Relationship	Style of interaction
Friend	Relaxed and on equal terms, with jokes and honest opinions
Romantic partner (Girlfriend or Boyfriend in the app)	More affectionate, expressing care and letting you know they miss you
Mentor	Offers advice, helps you stay on track, and points out problems directly

To choose a romantic relationship, you must confirm that you're 18 or older. Your choice changes how Zai interacts with you; Zai is still an AI.

If your change doesn't save, follow the on-screen instructions and try again, then check which relationship is selected. To clear past chats or memories, see Memory and Data.
